Every Litographs t-shirt is created entirely from the text of a classic book, and is hand-pressed to order in Cambridge, MA.
Our shirts are printed via all-over dye sublimation, which means that the design - the text from each book - covers every inch. Of all the printing methods we've tested, dye sublimation stands out for its resolution, comfort, and durability.
Because the collar and seams are thicker than the body of the shirt, some blurring of text in those areas is unavoidable. You may also notice a few small, white voids under the arms, which are not noticeable when the shirt is worn. These are standard features of dye sublimated t-shirts, and each item is unique.
Our shirts are made using white, Vapor brand T-Shirts produced specifically for dye sublimation. Vapor tees are made with high-quality, 100% spun polyester to deliver the look and feel of cotton while allowing for full-color, all-over printing. Dye sublimation printing produces vibrant, super-soft, permanent prints that are guaranteed to never shrink or fade.
The average Litographs t-shirt contains approximately 40,000 words (about the length of a short novel).
First, the design is printed onto heat-resistant paper. The paper is then arranged on a blank t-shirt and fed into a large heat press. As the press heats up to 350 degrees, the pigments vaporize and quickly bond with the t-shirt fibers.
The key feature of dye sublimated clothing is that the design is not printed on top of the garment. Rather, the design is permanently dyed into the threads of the shirt itself, ensuring that it will never fade.

The adage "a picture is worth a thousand words" has never sat well with me, so I love the concept of using words to create a picture and turning that tired phrase on its head. I purchased a "Paradise Lost" tote for one of my English teacher friends, and she adored it. I later received an Aeneid tee in blue that is not only visually stunning, but is also incredibly comfortable. There is a healthy selection of classics, and I presume you're adding more all the time, so practically anyone who reads for pleasure can find a design to suit her.

You provide a shirt which isn't made out of a machine processed, chemically treated, low-quality material. The product is quality in a excellent idea for the book lover in all of us. The mental aesthetic of wearing a book is fulfilling as well.

I already expected a shirt that my girlfriend would fall in love with, but once I actually had it in my hands I was amazed at the detail and quality of this product. Good quality product for a fair price. Shipping is a little bit slow because shirts are custom made - I get that. Expedite option or lower price point would make this an easy 10.

Litographs are AMAZING. I'm completely blown away by my Hamlet shirt, it's beautiful. I love explaining to people what it is and where I got it from, and the reasonable price. "$34 for a tshirt, what is this?!" Quite frankly, if you can put my favorite book (or play) on a shirt, I'll buy it no matter the cost.

Came really fast and great costumer service! I don't love the unisex sizes (I'm normally a medium, but would be a small in your sizes) or how the material is sort of see through.
I'm an illustrator and bibliophile, so I think that the idea behind Litographs is fantastic. I didn't rate a 9 or 10 simply because: a) Some of the graphics are disappointing (what can I say, I'm a critical artist); b.) I haven't had them long enough to know how well they hold up wash after wash; and c.) they're polyester--I know it makes for a more durable print, but because of skin sensitivities I'll have to wear a cotton shirt underneath them.

Books were of wide range, I liked the images, printing appeared good, choice of colors. AFIs: more books, maybe slightly beefier fabric.

They are a nice, unique product. The only reason it wasn't a 10 is because it takes so long to make; if someone needs something for a birthday in 2 weeks, for example, I wouldn't be able to recommend this for that occasion.
