I was born in the state of Texas and spent most of my childhood with my nose in a book. Reading became the wellspring for my continuing passions in life: drawing, storytelling and traveling. I graduated with a degree in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin and then spent eight years in New York City working as a graphic artist and designer. I have since moved to Europe and launched a successful career as an illustrator, working on books for children of all ages in both English and Dutch. I also write and illustrate my own picture books and graphic novels. I now live in Amsterdam with my English husband, my Dutch son, and my cranky old New York cat.

Some of my favorite novels include The Razor's Edge, Anna Karenina, and Last Exit to Brooklyn.

Rachelle's Litographs designs include The Arabian Nights, Madame Bovary, The Bible, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Poems by T.S.
